Wills, Power of Attorney, Living Will

When we die, our families and friends will want to honour us by carrying out our funeral wishes. They will want to see that our property and possessions are distributed the way we want. In both cases, we can take the stress and worry out of these decisions by letting our family and trusted friends know what we want by having a Will that specifies our wishes.

The problem is less half of Canadians have a Will. Many think it will be too expensive, some think it will be time-consuming, while others believe they don’t need one, thinking that everything will go to their spouse, or family.

Unfortunately if you don’t have a Will, the government will make one for you- and you might not like their decisions.

Fortunately I’ve found an answer- a company that can help you prepare an online legal Will that not only does a great job, but they’re not expensive, and it’ should only take you about 20 minutes to create your very own legal Will.

Of course for those of us with medical issues, it’s also important to obtain a Power of Attorney (where you name someone to handle your finances) and a Living Will for Health Care (naming someone to specify your wishes in the event you can’t communicate).

Legal Wills Canada has a number of different plans available, including MyVault- a place you can upload your digital assets such as important files, pictures, video’s and your username and passwords to your online world (bank accounts, credit cards, investment account and so much more). Pricing ranges from $50- $130 for an individual and $80- $200 for a couple.
